The Nats have a TV deal!
Good: We can watch our team on the tube
Bad: The O's get the vast majority of the revenue. More than 90% (!) this year, still more than 50% in 10 years.
One option: if this joint venture loses money, Washington still gets guaranteed money. Then they can negotiate their own TV contract.
Question for the audience: should we, as Nationals fans, consider boycotting all O's/Nats TV advertisers, to let them know we hate the deal and to try and make it fail?

Re: TV Advertiser Boycott
Mon, April 11, 2005 - 7:48 AMMoney talks but would there a clear link between loss of sales and the bitterness of fans? Heck I probably don't use any of that suff anyway. -

Re: TV Advertiser Boycott
Sat, April 16, 2005 - 3:21 PMYou've got to let the companies know that you're not going to buy their product specifically because you don't approve of thier sponsorship money being used to help Peter Angelos rip off DC Baseball. You can support the cause but not buying without joining in all the phone / mail campaign ... but yeah, if you're already not buying the products, it won't make any difference!
Support for this proposal: tepid to non-existent - because we get to see our Nats on TV, woo-hoo! So what is Nats Enemy #1 is profiting! Someday, we'll care ... but not Opening Week
